Happy Ending
I’ll start with the happy ending – a healthy baby girl. Now back to the beginning: We started trying for a second baby; I was 39. Our son was conceived on the first month we tried three years earlier, so we were hoping it would be as easy this time. After five months of trying we were successful in getting pregnant. Unfortunately, an ultrasound at 8/9 weeks showed there was no heartbeat and I had a D&C. At year’s end, still not pregnant, I had some bloodwork done and my husband was also tested through my regular OB-GYN office. They said I was within okay limits and he had no issues.
I am 40 and more months go by without success. In the summer, I made an appointment with an infertility group. They told me that I had high FSH (15) and the HSG showed I had one tube completely blocked. Due to the high FSH and my age, they said there was really nothing they could offer me. They said we would have a 3% chance of conceiving on our own and they might be able to improve our chances to 10% through IUI. Given the poor chances of success and the grueling nature of infertility treatment and side effects, we decided to just keep trying and be happy about the one child we already had.
A few months later, I was playing on the computer, researching high FSH and alternative treatments. I came across the Princeton Healthcare website and started reading the case studies and testimonials. I wrote Jennifer an email about my situation and asked if she thought she could help. She responded promptly and answered all my questions about what was involved, how long it might take, and the cost of Jennifer took the most detailed health history I have ever been asked for. She started me on supplements; Royal Jelly (bee pollen), CoQ10, wheatgrass, fish oil and a multivitamin. She also had me chart my temperature and gave me herb tea to address the Yin deficiency causing high FSH. After just a few months of treatment (and the age of 41), I got pregnant. I continued to see Jennifer through my first trimester, and we exchanged emails throughout my pregnancy. So here we are with a wonderful newborn at home that we never thought we would have! God has blessed us and I feel so fortunate to have found to Jennifer. My appointments were never rushed, she was as thorough every visit as she was on the first, and I truly felt she cared as much about our pregnancy success as we did.
